Happy Earth Day!
I’m Brett (she/her), a photographer and freelance journalist living in Toronto. Thank you for subscribing!
I created The Greener Good to celebrate and inspire positive change for the planet. Each week, I’ll bring you environmental good news stories and practical ideas for sustainable living — from how-to guides and eco-friendly product recommendations to inspiring interviews with people and organizations working to protect nature and combat climate change.
My goal is to offer a weekly dose of hope and motivation to interrupt the endless doom scroll of bad news. While it’s essential that we stay informed about environmental crises and injustice, I believe it’s equally important to pause and celebrate the wins, recognize the good in the world, and make meaningful changes in our own lives.
Since The Greener Good is about protecting the planet, I’m launching this first issue on Earth Day. As a child, Earth Day had a powerful influence on me — through simple activities and conversations with my parents and teachers, I developed a deep sense of environmental stewardship. This passion for the environment led me to a career in conservation, from monitoring songbirds to running an environmental certification for beaches. Now, as a freelance journalist, I write about nature and sustainability.
The Greener Good bridges my skills, experience and passions — writing, photography, and environmentalism — under one platform, with a common purpose. I want to bring you beauty, hope, and maybe a little nudge — to remind you that we can all make an impact, and we’re all in this together.
Yours for the Greener Good,
Brett
